TRAVELING TO HAWAII FOR VACATION IN 2009??

If you are planning to travel to Hawaii in 2009, I would strongly suggest you brace yourself for a price increase. Yes, in the past, you were definitely able to find packages for $500 per person for air and hotel. (flying from the west coast)But I hate to break it to you…those days are long gone. With rising gas prices and a slow economy,  traveling to Hawaii may not seem like much of a bargain these days. Do expect to pay, at least, $1500 per person (flying from the west coast for an air and room package). Coming from the east coast is slightly higher.

I pride myself in working hard to find you the best and least expensive package we can find. Working with me gives you three advantages.

HAVING A MERRY CHRISTMAS IN HAWAII

Many people look forward to spending their Christmas vacation here in Hawaii. Hoping to escape the wintery, chilly weather of the mainland. After trying vigorously to find reasonable airfare and any type of room/condo availability, I thought I’d give you a few hints to planning your Christmas vacation in Hawaii…

PLAN WELL IN ADVANCE - Due to rising gas prices, we do not foresee any type of "great" airfares during the Christmas season. Trust your travel agent when they tell you that they’ve found a great price. Availability for rooms/condos are already limited. If you are traveling as a family (3 persons or more) and are looking to stay in a condo (1 or 2 bedroom units). I would strongly suggest you have your plans firmly in place no later then August 31. As of today, August 5, availability is already showing as "low".

EXPECT TO PAY MORE - Christmas vacation is our peak season.

I have put together a couple of sample packages, so you can see what you have to look forward to as far as pricing. If you have any questions or would like to speak to me in more detail, please feel free to call me, Mahea, at 800-843-8771 xt: 28. Just know that I am here in Hawaii and can offer you personal service before and during your vacation!

Making your Hawaii Vacation Safe

I could not think of a single thing to blog about and then it came to me…

While at the beach, I witnessed a near drowning, by a tourist. He was
an older man, with his glasses on and a boogie board that was way too
small for him. He thought that he could just jump into the water (wave
heights were 3-7 feet) and swim around to get back to the "calm" side
of the beach. While trying to do so, a local bystander saw this man
struggling to get back to shore. He tried to tell the tourist the best
way to get out of the water, but he was not listening. He just looked
at the local like he was crazy. This man was literally going in
circles as wave after wave kept him from getting back to shore. The
local man finally jumped into the water to try and guide the tourist
in, but he was actually trying to do it himself. The tourist was being
difficult. After fighting the oncoming waves and the defiance of the
tourist the local finally got the man to safety.

The moral of the story is pretty simple…NEVER UNDER ESTIMATE THE OCEAN…

Before entering the water at any beach, always take a few minutes to
observe others that are already in the water. It will give you the
opportunity to gage what you are getting yourself into. Most people
think, just because the water seems calm, they are safe. Never assume
that, especially in Hawaiian waters. We have strong currents and under
tows that you cannot see.

If you see that the waves are high and crashing close to shore…STAY
OUT! Let the locals do their thing and just observe. Don’t think that
you can just jump in and do what they do. I have witnessed many
tourists swimming and boogie boarding in places that would have
swallowed them whole, had it not been for the locals watching them.

Do not be afraid to ask the locals for advise as this will most likely
save you from much body aches and maybe even serious injury.

Just a friendly reminder from a local agent thats seen it all. We want
you to enjoy your vacation on the beach, not on the hospital bed…
